Q1: So when you get ready to do those horrible scenes together do you discuss it first?
MD: No, we talked about mutual friends and admiration I felt for her as an actress. That's important that we trust each other before we can do scenes like this. We don't have to get into method acting. I don't have to become a racist to play one.
TN: I think you have to feel like you know someone before you do something like this. That's the only way you can feel comfortable. If we had just been talking about the scene it probably would have made us more uncomfortable because we'd be talking about two people who DON'T like each other, but we talked about what we had in common.
MD: There was a lot of discussion with Paul, the director. We did some rehearsals, which was helpful. For me, the scene we did where Ryan and I pull them over, I identified with every character in the scene except the guy I was playing! I needed to lean on the director to he...
